Rockstar: Red Hook Criterium

Billed as ‘the world’s most dangerous cycling race’, Rockstar’s Red Hook Critirium is the premiere international track bike series that takes place in multiple countries throughout the year.
4mediarelations picked up the broadcast coverage for the London leg for the second year in a row, ensuring the entire city of London was aware of the thrilling event that was taking place at the North Greenwich Peninsula.

The Campaign

Following the success of 2015’s broadcast campaign, Rockstar approached 4mediarelations this year with the prime objective of maximising their event’s coverage by focussing solely on media outlets within Greater London and a short travelling distance.

In the studio to talk about the upcoming race, were its founder David Trimble and Team GB’s Team Pursuit gold medalist from London 2012, Dani King MBE.

Dani, also a three-time World and two-time European Championship gold medalist, was the perfect fit to put alongside the race’s founder.

In fact, following her successful day on the broadcast airwaves promoting the event, she would go on to win the Women’s race at 2016’s Red Hook Crit.

A perfect team to express the key points of what atendees could expect and how the event would unfold.


Due to the specific constraints of this particular campaign, only a few items of coverage were achieved. However, they were the best possible outlets for the best possible coverage.

BBC Radio London interviews Dani and David, then sent their counterparts at BBC London TV along to cover the event. National stations talkRADIO and Sky News Radio completed the four interviews for the pair.

4mediarelations even had their own representatives at the event to ensure any surplus media requests were handled as quickly as possible.
