Stellar ‘DreamToys’ Coverage


This November 9th, DreamToys’ annual event in Central London revealed their list of the most sought-after Christmas toys to buy for the kids this year.

4mediarelations’ coverage of the DreamToys campaign was the most successful to date, securing This Morning (with over 1.5million viewers), The Jonathan Ross Xmas Special (2million viewers) 11 BBC stations, the Mark Forrest Show (which syndicates to all regional BBC stations) and Sky News Radio (potential reach of 34million).

The full DreamToys list is compiled by a panel of leading UK toy retailers, and provides one of the most accurate lists of the bestselling kids’ items this Christmas. This year it seems that we may be spending a lot more time together with the increase in games and puzzle sales. In fact, sales have grown the most in this category (15%), allowing families to spend quality time together and suggesting that consumers are looking towards more nostalgic pastimes. Old favourites are joined by the hilarious ‘Speak Out’ and ‘Silly Sausage’ games.

Elsewhere, collectibles will find their way into many Christmas stockings, with Shopkins and Hot Wheels all in the top 12 sellers this year. It is no surprise then, that the toy industry is expecting annual sales to reach 400 million toys for the first time ever this year, with a predicted value in excess of £3.3bn.
